Today Year 9 was in Monfalcone (GO) to visit the WW1 Park and the Shipbuilding Museum (MuCa).
In the morning the students were accompained by a guide dressed with an historical uniform and visited the Joffre trench and the Virgin cave, climbing throught the Karst vegetation up to the Monfalcone stronghold. In addition to the historical relevance, they were able to speak about topics such as the “desertification” of the Karst and its “rebirth” at the end of the 19th century.
After lunch the group moved to the MuCa, the only italian museum dedicated to shipbuilding. Through a guided tour all students had the opportunity to delve into topics as the factory city, corporate welfare and wars, the construction site, the evolution of the territory and of the construction techniques. The visit was characterized in particular by a sensory tunnel, a crane simulator and augmented reality and 3D reconstruction stations!
